Tornadoes are dangerous. But they are also interesting and fascinating. Jakey’s father really agree on that, but Jakey fears them. They’ve been watching documentaries about them in Jakey’s whole life, and he wants to show Jakey on in real life. Every time its windy outside, Jakey fears that a tornado is coming. They are the Stormchasers every time the mom isn’t in the car. ‘’The Stormchasers’’ written by Adam Marek in 2012, deals with a father and his son chasing tornadoes in a storm, but the further they drive from home, the calmer the storm becomes. The storm is a symbol of mental illness in the family, which is the worst thing, that is every family’s worst fear.

The country as a setting plays a medial role in the short story. The country is getting compared to other countries about tornadoes. Even though tornadoes are rare in England where they live, Jackey still fears them. ´´ […] I'm scared. Of what?' I ask 'Of tornadoes. Listen,' I say, 'no tornadoes are coming here. ´´ This quotation really illustrates Jackey’s fear for tornadoes.

But he still wants to be with his father, and search for them which means that Jakey’s father has influenced him to be interested in tornadoes. Furthermore, the setting take place in Jakey’s house, where we hear about his mother, and in the car where they are looking for the tornadoes.
