2021 was the year when we had high hopes that the pandemic would quietly but surely disappear around us.
And that we could regain our normal everyday lives.
I am deeply impressed with how you all, the people of Denmark, have coped with the pandemic despite all these challenges.
We have fought COVID-19 by standing together and by following the recommendations and rules.
This year will hopefully be easier than the old one. Again, this year has been a tough. We had a strict Christmas. It has been a Christmas where many have had to spend Christmas alone, or with those closest to them, but it was not just Christmas. It has also been a New Year in the shadow of the COVID-19. Rising infection. Many in isolation. It's a difficult time. And it still is.
But Today I want to thank a lot of people
I would like to express my thanks to all of you who are on guard this New Year holiday.
Thank you to all of you who take care of important tasks while the rest of us celebrate.
I know many of you are close to breaking point now.
Especially those of you who have been in the front line during the whole pandemic.
