The movie takes place in the Victorian era, and it follows our protagonist, Alice Kingsleigh. Alice has had an unusual dream since she was a little girl. Her dream has always been about this magical world she calls Wonderland.
Nineteen-year-old Alice is now at what she thinks is a regular party. Alice is unaware that the party is an engagement party for herself and Lord Hamish Ascot, a snobby man she dislikes. While Hamish is proposing, Alice sees a white rabbit and follows it. Alice falls down a dark hole during her search for the rabbit, leading her to a whole new world. From there, her adventure in Wonderland starts.
In Wonderland, she meets characters like the white rabbit, McTwisp, the two large-headed twins, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and a dormouse named Mally. Alice first thinks that it is all a dream since she has been dreaming about this place for a long time. Later, she realizes that her dreams are her memories from being in Wonderland when she was a little girl. With help from her new friends and the crazy Mad Hatter, she discovers her true destiny. She must end the reign of the Queen of Hearts and bring back the power to the White Queen.
