Alice’s adventures in wonderland written by Lewis Caroll tells us about a little girls adventures in an imaginative world where the themes growing up and becoming mature are essential features of the story. Taking in mind that the story is written in the 1860’s, classifying Alice’s adventures in wonderland in a modern fantasy genre is difficult, it is no high fantasy and personally I would also disqualify it as low fantasy, but yet the nearest genre to classify it with.

The composition follows the model cosmos-chaos-cosmos an before Alice enters wonderland we find her in the condition “cosmos” where she lives as nothing was missing and needed to be change. However, that switch to “chaos” when she enters wonderland. Here there is no control on things, people are talking non-sense and Alice’s experiences several of strange things. Finally she ends in cosmos after returning the real world where she is back as a whole different human, more mature and much wiser on life.

Alice is the protagonist of the story and it’s in her perspective we are following the story which is connected with the point that her adventures reflect her mind, former experience and real life. In continuation of this it is clear to see in the way she acting in conversation with the strange creatures that it reflects her mind, for instance is the Royal family a pack of cards by the cause of Alice only being a child therefore, she only knows the king and queen as a pack of card. This also says something about her real life, the fact that her only knowledge and picture of a royal family is cards, shows that the time must be back in the 1800 century where everyone was sort of isolated from each other. Alice as a person is very curious, which is showed in the text when she follows the rabbit. Furthermore, the way she acts around people and not thinking twice tells us she is young and in connection with that she is impulsive and says what is on her mind.
