Another day of survival in this strange and interesting year. The heat is still unbearable, and it seems to get worse every day. The rich have their air-conditioned homes, while the poor are left to struggle in the sweltering heat. I can't help but think of what Iris said: "The planet is fighting back. It's punishing us for our ignorance and greed."

4th December 2040

I bumped into Ruth today, and she looks worse than ever. Her once pristine clothes are now tattered and dirty. "I lost everything," she said. "My house, my job, my husband. All gone." It's sad to see what this year has done to people, but at the same time, it's also fascinating to see how some can keep going despite everything.

21st December 2040

It's getting colder, and it is soon Christmas!

I was walking down the street when I saw a man digging through the trash. He looked up and saw me staring, and then he said something that made me stop in my tracks: "We're all just one disaster away from this, you know." It's true. This year has made me realize just how fragile our lives are.

25th December 2040

It was finally Christmas, but all things were still the same. Nothing to celebrate but the rain finally came today, but it wasn't the refreshing shower I was hoping for. The streets flooded, and the smell of sewage filled the air. I can't believe how quickly things are changing. It's like the world is spinning out of control.
