BBC's historie: fra radio til globalt medieimperium

The history of the BBC goes long back in time. It all started back in October 1922 when the Italian radio pioneer Guglielmo Marconi experimented with the radio and likely.

After short time the Maronis Studio were established. The radio channel BBC, British Broadcasting Company was born. The first broadcast was on 14 November in the 20’s. The next day, the channel broadcasted in many cities.

At that time it was all about radio broadcasting, but then came John Reith. He had an idea and he wanted to extent BBC. And we can defiantly say he did. BBC started to broadcast Concerts, talk shows and of course the today-well-known newspaper.

BBC had a big breakthrough in 1926 when the General-Strike came, they covered everything and they had their first confrontation with the government. People turned to BBC to get their news.

Only one year after the BBC-British Broadcasting Company became the British Company Cooperation and John Reith was knighted.

After a few years in the 30’s the television was born and of course BBC had to go “on air”.

But then a bad period came in the 1940’s. The Second World War started and all the televisions went black, and therefore they named it the radios war.
