For the past few weeks I have been abroad where I took part in one of YoungVentures trips. YoungVenture is a travel agency who organizes adventure holidays for young people. You can either participate in groups or all by yourself. I didn’t know anyone before the trip, which in advance made me nervous but turned out to be beneficial.
Previously I have been looking for a trip, but I had not found a trip that was something for me. But I finally found it, and definitely didn’t doubt purchasing it. The trip went to Central America, exactly Costa Rica and Panama. I have always been dreaming of visiting these countries, and that’s why I found this as a golden opportunity. Formerly, I only just travelled with people I knew, so I took this as an opportunity to challenge myself.
Prior to the trip I was very uptight, but it stopped as soon as I meet the others travellers in the airport. Only a few of the participants travelled together. The majority was travelling alone and was just as nervous as me. We all quick began chatting - this was the start of a memorable trip.
The journey began in the south of Costa Rica, which is characterised as the part with least tourism. YoungVenture had been arranging experiences you wouldn’t be able to do if it was just you travelling. For example a major memory was visiting a small high school. The travel agency had prior to the trip told to bring along pictures of your home, food, traditions and everyday life you could show the locals. The Costa Ricans were the same age range as us, which was suggestive as our lives was contrast in many points. This is a memory I never will forget - I valued to talk with some real locals.
