The abstinence movement i amerikansk seksualundervisning

Before this subject I had the impression that American sex ed was pretty like the

Danish.

Some places it is similar but there is still a big difference, in 12 states Sex education has

to be medically correct. In Denmark we have just celebrated 50 years of mandatory sex

education in all schools, I tried to learn about the laws in Denmark and figure out there

is any laws about is being medically correct I could not find any, but it is mandatory to

lean about the gender, identity and sexuality, and for all the time I can remember it has

always been medically correct. So to think that only about 20% of the States has a

requirement of it being medically correct is weird for me. In 50% of all of US the states

require sex ed and I don’t think it is that bad, because that the states that don’t require

sex ed the schools can still offer it.

When I look at this statistic it is easy to get lost and hard to understand but: purple

means that sex ed is not a requirement, the clear is the states where sex ed is

mandatory, dots is the states where the local government is stressing abstinence
