In 1984, Apple released the Macintosh, it was the first computer with a graphical user interface, which meant it had pictures and icons instead of just text. The Macintosh made computers easier for people to use. Steve Jobs was fired from Apple in 1985. He had a massive disagreement with the CEO. He didn’t give up, He started a new company called NeXT and bought Pixar. He was designing powerful workstation computers. In late 1996, Apple saddled by huge financial losses and was on the edge of collapsing. The CEO of Apple (Gilbert Amelio) decided to buy Steve Jobs company for over 400 million dollars. In 1997 Steve Jobs returned to Apple as the co-founder. He helped the company run again by releasing the iMac in 1998, it is a egg-shaped, one peace computer that offered high-speed processing. By the end of the year the iMac was the nation’s highest-selling personal computer.
