As I sit down to reflect on my professional football season, I’m overwhelmed by the journey I’ve taken a lot of things into consideration, right now I feel totality lost. I know if what I am doing is not the right thing for for me. Football really doesn’t feel the same anymore, the spark has gone away. All I see is the loud fans, fighting in the crowd, the mean opponents who only care about winning and how my whole body feels numb after every training session. It has all just gotten too competitive way too fast. Professional sports just aren’t my thing. When played sport with my friends I always thought that being a professional athlete would be the best and most fun job in the world. When I look back now, I can see that it has always been more about the people that I have played with, than the actual sport. Of course, I am grateful for the Tuohy family or my family and everything they have done for me. But I just can’t keep going, at this point they’re the only reason I am still playing. Besides I have already made enough money to retire if I wanted to, but I don’t want to retire. I want to feel like I am doing a difference, to feel like I am helping people. I have thought about becoming a firefighter, mall-and club guard or a psychologist. I want people to know that when I am with them, they are safe. I don’t know which of them it is going to be yet, or if it’s something totally different. All I know is that I am done with professional football and any professional sports. I Also have a plan to set up a charity, and donate myself to help people like me, to get a better opportunity in life, and to rise in the society. The only thing I need to do is to tell it to mom, dad and the rest of the family. I am really scared they are going to be disappointed or mad at me. that is also why I have waited so long to tell them.
