American History X is an Academy Award-nominated 1998 film directed by Tony Kaye

The main character’s name is Darren and he is about 25 years old. He lives in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, California.Darren is a Neo-Nazi and is a member of a group, where they together lives by the roles and the ideology.

Darren is the leader of the group and he is a role model for his younger brother Danny. Darren has an aggressive personality and he hates black people. Derek is drawn into the Neo-Nazi and racist underground after their father, a firefighter, is killed by an African-American drug dealer while trying to put out a fire in a South Central neighborhood.

Darren loves his brother very much and he takes good care of him. His father is dead (killed by three black drug addict) and his mother is chronic ill. His sister keep distance from his believes and can not relate to his way of living. Derek has also a younger sister (about five years old).

Derek supports the family and make sure that they have what they need. But he’s mostly concentrating about his brother Danny.

The group is very violent and criminal. They live a life without laws and they break the law several times. The group parties a lot by the main leader (Alexander Cameron) in his house. The two brothers find there identity through the group and the group becomes there family. They are draw into the environment, because of the hate to the black people, who has killed there father. The both need a father figure after the dead of the father and find it through the middle-aged Neo-Nazi Alexander Cameron. The black people have taken over the power in the neighbourhood, where they pervious were lower range. That leave the two brothers and there friends without possibilities and a safe environment.
