Jess and Jules is both in love with their coach Joe. But Joe is only in love with Jess. Pinky is in love with Teetu, and they also get married. Tony is in love with Beckham. He is gay.

Talent:

Jess and Jules is a great football player, and Mr. Bhamra was a gut cricket player when he was younger.

Follow your heart/go for a goal in life:

Jess won’t stop playing football and in the end the film she travel to America because she wants to become a pro football player. Pinky and Teetu won’t stop seeing each other and they also get married.

Generation gaps:

There is a gap between Jess and her parents and between Jules and her parents. For example when the parents don’t understand why the girls wants to play football. Jess doesn’t understand why she has to take her religion so seriously.

Cultural gaps:

There is a big gap between the Indian culture and the English culture. In the Indian culture the family takes their religion very seriously and they believe that their god Babaji helps them through some things in life. And the children have more respect for their parents. In the English culture children don’t have as much respect for their parents as children from the Indian culture. And they don’t care much about their religion.
