summary
It takes place in a small town named Hounslow where there lives an young Indian girl named jess and Jess is really good at football but her family won’t let her play.
Partly because she has a huge scar on her leg, and they think she shouldn’t wear shorts because then people can see it also because in their culture its not very normal for women and girls to play football.
But she plays football anyway. One day while playing in the park a girl approaches her. Her name is Juliet, but people call her Jules.
Jules asks jess if she wants to play on the Hounslow girls’ team. She says yes of course.
But again, her parents won’t let her go. So, she lies and says she has a summer job. Of course, she does not have a summer job she just plays football.
She’s great at football and she also kind of likes her trainer joe but Jules also kind of likes joe so they kind of get mad at eatchother but eventually work it out.
