The American History x is about a man called Derek, his brother Danny, and their family. Derek is a big racist, and so has his brother Danny become. In the start Derek is the second leader of big gang, where they praise Hitler, and swear that they will always hate the black people. The leader of this gang is an old man called Cameron.
A night comes two black men to the family’s house. Danny wakes up from his sleep because, of noise the two men where making. In a hurry he runs into his brother’s room, and tells him that someone is trying to brake into the house. Derek takes his gun, and run downstairs to the door. He opens the door, and shoots both of the black men. Because of that, he gets arrested and put in prison for three years.
In this prison there are a lot of black men, but also a few white. Like Derek does outside the prison, he also thinks that he can control the whole prison. Derek joins the white people in the prison, and for a year it goes well in their little gang. But after that year, Derek discovers that one of the white guys in the gang is co-operating with a Latino so that they can get their fix. Derek gets really angry because he is a racist and hates all not-white-people. But at the same time he gets a black friend in the prison too. He is really opening his eyes for, haw bad the black people are treated. The longer we get into the part of the movie were Derek is in prison, the more he realize, that the world is not really how he had imagined it in the first place. At the same time the white gang in the prison gets angry on Derek because he does not know his place in the prison anymore. So the white gang rapes Derek when he is in shower, because Derek no longer is hanging with them.
