I’m so sorry to disappoint you, but while reading the brochure, I couldn’t help smiling. Denmark is nothing like this brochure says. It’s absolutely correct that Denmark do have areas with white lovely beaches. There is just two problems. The first one is, that the sun rarely shine in a result of it is an arctic country, and it’s rare that it is more than 25 degrees in the summer, which of course results in really cold water at the beaches, where I personally prefer the more southern climate like in Spain or Italy. The second problem is that the most beaches in Denmark is full of seaweed, especially in the eastern Jutland where I live, and I don’t find it that delicious to be laying in or just walking over.

Besides that, I don’t find the Danish culture and history half as exciting as in so many other countries in Europe. Or the rest of the world in a matter of fact. The Chinese got their different looking houses and that special kind of music. The Americans got their multiculturalism and their gigantic skyscrapers. The French got their wine and are known as a romantic country, with a world known capital city with a symbol which is worth to be proud of. Even the British, who in many ways look like the Danish, got a lot of exciting history and a lot of really big cities, you won’t find in Denmark. All the Danish got is bad weather and a history where the most dominating thing is the Vikings, which is nothing to be proud of! The Vikings were primitive people who robbed every town they came to and raped the citizens. In fact, we don’t have any super-interesting culture in general. Our building style isn’t unusual, we don’t have any high skyscrapers, you can not find a quick place to eat a fast breakfast in the morning before 8 am as in the big cities, we are worldwide not very popular, and at the time actually hated in some parts of the world because of the Mohammed drawings, we don’t even have a mountain, only hills, and we always seem to blow the smallest things up to the biggest events.
