It was my second day in the job as a fireman in New York City’s most busy fire station; however my first day was pretty quiet as we were only out stopping a few small fires in kitchens. This day, 11th September, wasn’t going to be as easy. It all started out normal though, a few small fires here and there which were easy to put out, I was starting to get a bit frustrated because I really wanted to come out and see a big fire soon so I could get some experience with that as well. But if I knew what was coming I’d definitely prefer to put out small fires.
We had nothing to do at the fire station so we decided to help out some children who asked us for an interview about being a fireman, we met with them outside the fire station and they started interviewing us. But then it happened, I could see directly at The World Trade Center, a plane just hit it! It was like if the time froze, I completely stopped thinking and I just stood looking at the gigantic skyscraper that was burning. All the cars stopped and people went out of their cars and started looking as well, at this time people though that it was accident, but later they would find out that it was planned down to last detail.
