My name is [NAVN A] and I am 15 years old. I come from Iceland, but I recently moved to China with my mom, dad and two siblings. We live in a small town called Haikou. My father was offered a job here, so my parents decided to move. I wasn‘t glad to hear that we were moving, but there was nothing I could do about it.
It is now 5 months since we moved, it was a big change for all of us, but I think it‘s great to try something new. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone we knew on Iceland, because I knew I was going to miss them so much. It was a very long journey, it took us 16 hours to fly from Iceland to China and then we had to drive all the way from the airport to Haikou. We were really tired when we came to our home. My father had got us a big house just by the lake, it was so beautiful.
The language is really hard to learn, I‘m starting to understand a little bit, but it‘s going to take a long time before I can speak Chinese. Everything has been going pretty well since we moved here. My mom is studying midwife, my father is doing great at his new job and me and my brother go to an English school. I have a lot of friends and my grades are good, so I really like it here. But I belong in Iceland, although it’s fun here, China is not for me. I miss Iceland and all my friends and family, I even miss school. But we are going to Iceland next month for 2 weeks to visit our family and friends. I look forward to that.
