A: David Beckham is a perfect example of an icon. He is an icon to millions of young children today. He has what all young children want to have, which for example is that he is good at football, has a lovely and pretty wife, has a lot of money, is fond of children and most important, he is a good looking man.
If you look up “Icon” in a dictionary it shows: A person or a thing who someone worth to follow, or to imitate. Many little boys have a big dream of living the life of David Beckham.
David Beckham is very popular worldwide, which I think has a lot to do with his looks. You can find hundreds of football players which is by far better at playing football than David Beckham, but David will still be a better Icon because of his good looking face and body. If you for take a look at the French football player Frank Ribery, which is a by far better football player than Beckham, he can never be an icon as big as Beckham because he was in a car accident at a young age, and crashed his face to look really ugly. I think the good looking is the biggest thing that most all icons have in common.
