The mind-body relationship: is the relationship between a human body and its unique mind. Theories of the body-mind relationship can be divided into two broad categories: Monistic and Dualistic theories.

Monistic theories: These suggest that mind and body are not separate substances

Dualistic theories: According to the dualist view, mind is thought to be of a substance other than a physical substance.

The Mind and body are two sides of the same “coin”, you can say that the mind is a byproduct of the body. We can only know about the body through the mind, sometimes the mind affects the body and sometimes the body affects the mind.

Text 1 - A new fertility factor

Alice D. Domar tells about her experience with her overseeing, a ten week mind-body program. Couples who cannot have a child, in spite of testing of fertility has shown nothing wrong with either male or female, can participate in mind-body program. Here the woman gives up alcohol and caffeine, and begin practicing relaxation techniques to avoid stress. This has given very positive results, and babies have been born by women who may already have given up hope of ever being a mother. Medical treatment is not always the only solution, and sometimes it only makes things worse. If stress is a Fertility factor, as this mind-body program has shown, treatment can increase the fear of not being able to have a baby.
