Immigration og grænsekontrol i Texas

Texas is and has always been s a supporter of a reform, so the immigrants could civilize in their state. 7 % of Texas’ population are immigrants, which is 2 million people. The Border Patrol officers have been increased from 6000 in 1996 to 20.000.

Texans does not like this, because they feel like has fenced people in, not out. Because of the high security, people now begin to smuggle whole families inside Texas, people who wants to stay in the states.

The fence is expensive and a waste of time, because it is easy to climb over and it is bad for the environment because the animals is cut off from their water and where they use to be.

The fence does have an effect on illegal immigration, because the illegal immigrants are afraid to be killed of the drug lords.

Normal people, who used to go for a ride out of town, cannot do this anymore without getting in line for two hours, beside of that there is more violence at the borderlines now.

The economy is a powerful reason that people don’t won’t to cross the line anymore. The Mexican Peso has fallen by 18 % since the beginning of 2008.
