Al “Scarface” Capone!
Alphonse Capone was born 17th January
1899, in Brooklyn, New York. His dad and
mom, Gabriele and Teresina Capone,
were Italians with American passports. He
became a respected gangster I the 1920th
and 1930th. He was one of the biggest
boozesmugler.
Life of Alphonse Capone
He was born in Brooklyn in 1899, he lived with his dad Gabriele Capone, Gabriele was a barber and came from a little town called Castellammara di Stabia 24 km from Napoli. Alphonse’s mother, Teresina Capone, was a dressmaker and came from Angri, a province in Salerno.
Alphonse had 7 brothers and sisters James, Raffaele, Salvatore, John, Albert, Matthew, Rose and Mafalda. The Capone family came to USA in 1893, and lived at 95 Navy Street in Navy Yard a part of Downtown Brooklyn, close to the Barber Shop there hired Gabriele. When Al were 11 years old moved the family to 38 Garfield Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Al dropped out of New York Public School system in a age of 14 years, after been kick out from Public School 133. After school he had some jobs, for example in a candyshop and a bowlingplace. Al got affected be the gangster Johnny Torrio, who he look up to, like a mentor. He became employed at Frankie Yale and bartender in Coney Island Dance Hall. He once work at the door to a nightclub where he insulted a woman, which got him into a fight with Frank Gallucio, Al’s face was slashed three time in left side, and that’s how he got the nickname “Scarface”. Later Al apologized to Frank on Yale’s request. According to the magazine “life” did Al’s closes friends call him “Snorky”.
