Every day, when I go to school, I’m afraid. Afraid about what the white people will do, how they’ll treat me. Because, the actually treat me like shit. Because my skin has the same color as shit? I don’t. What have i done wrong? Is it really my fault that i was born with this color, and not with the same as you? Every day is a war for me.
It’s Tuesday morning. after i have eaten my breakfast, to federal marshalls is coming to pick me up, and follow me to school. They are going to protect me. I don’t understand it? They are white, just like all the other people who hates me. But, why aren’t they mad at me then? Why aren’t they screaming all those nasty words to me. they just walk beside me, all the way to school.
“goodbye mum,” i say, before i walk with the two men. We enter the street. There’s a lot of children. White children. I feel like a number among words. We walk quick. Maybe they don’t wanna be seen with me. they are waring hats, too. I’m just like a job to them. They don’t care, if i’m black or white. Maybe that’s good, too. Sometimes i’m afraid about they might leave me here, with all these white people. That’s my worst nightmare. I dream about it every night. Right now i just wanna enter my classroom, give my teacher a hug. She’s so sweet. She doesn’t care if children are black or white! But, the way to school is so long. It feels like taking hours, but i guess that it just takes ten minutes.
