Indledning:
Kvinder havde i mange år været undertrykt, de havde været uretfærdigt behandldet, og ikke haft deres retmæssige plads i samfundet. Dette var der en række mennesker der begyndte at gøre oprør imod. I den sidste halvdel af det 18’ende århundrede, dukkede flere og flere kvinder (enda også få mænd) frem og sagde deres mening om ligestilling. Kvinden Mathilde Fibiger var en af de første der udgav litteratur, som satte spørgsmål ved kvinders situation. Mathilde Fibiger blev haglet ned, de fleste danskere lagde stor afstand til hende, selv hos kvinder var hun ikke accepteret.
Selvom Mathilde Fibiger kom med sit budskab på et forkert tidspunkt, lage hun grobund for videre tænkning. Hun satte et oprør i gang, som senere skulle ændre hele det danske samfund.
Dansk kvindesamfund kæmpede for kvinders rettigheder, de har kæmpet i godt 100 år og er kommet meget langt men er de kommet langt nok?
