The debate over pollution and global warming has raged for years. The operating conditions at plants have led to problems with performance and maintenance, which will result in critical climate changes. The scientists claim that whole islands may be inundated; North Jutland for example. However, this will not happen in the near future, but is it not our duty to think of the future generations?
Human activities lead to pollution due to the fact that countries like the USA and China do not care much about it. Leaving the computer on over the night is not unusual in America, but in Denmark we are very aware of saving power where we can. This is basically because power is expensive, but I also believe that it has to do with our culture and way of being. However, it appears that the Americans and the Chinese have started to open their eyes and are now aware of the growing problem. One might say that it is too late, as China and the USA are both very highly developed countries.
I believe that windmills are a great way to decrease the pollution and a discussion about “Lewis Wind farm Project” is currently taking place in England where it is being decided whether 181 windmills should be built on an island or not. I think this is a great initiative, as there is no doubt that if something is not done soon the problem will only grow.
