Old Major is an old boar on the manor farm and has the command. He calls all the animals to a meeting where he teaches them the song “Beasts of England” and put down the humans. Three days later Old Major dies and Snowball and Napoleon assume command. The animals revolt and chase Mr. Jones, who owns the farm, away. They rename the farm “Animal Farm”. The animals make seven commandments which are written on the walls of the barn for everyone to see. The most important commandment is “every animal are equal”, and this is the philosophy they call “Animalism”.
Snowball try to teach the animals reading and writing and so far it goes very well for the farm. Both Snowball and Napoleon want to be leaders on the farm and disagree in everything that is able to be disagreeing about, which means mutual battle and some violent debates. Mr. Jones tries to retake the farm so the animals attack him and call it the “Battle of the cowshed”. Snowball announces his knew idea about a windmill, but Napoleon opposes it and accuses Snowball for taking his idea. Napoleon was actually against the windmill and one half of the animals were with Snowball and the other half with Napoleon. When Snowball gives speech about the windmill, Napoleon summons his nine dogs who chase Snowball away from the farm. Now that Snowball is gone Napoleon appoint himself as the leader of the farm and there will no longer be great meetings but a committees of pigs will run the farm.
