I am, as many other young people and adults for that matter, very familiar with the issue that Maggie Jackson describes in the article. I’m one of these people who every day has to check my facebookprofile, my mail inbox, my cell phone of course and different online newspapers.

I agree with Maggie when she in the article writes, “In this new world, something is missing and that something is focus and awareness”, and it’s missing very much indeed. For fear of sounding like my grandmother I belief that the young people today, including myself, don’t know how to enjoy a good movie for instant. First of all, a movie is no longer a special thing as it used to be. If we don’t catch it when it’s running in the cinema, we just download illegally from some website.

The only time where young people really are focused and aware are at the final examinations in school, because then they’re forced to turn of their Internet, and forced to leave their cell phone at home. That actually scares me a bit. I know that not all people are addicted to their cell phone but just the fact that there are some people who are what we can call addicted to their cell phones, and I do know some of them, scares me. The fact that, for instant, my cousin is of that belief that if she doesn’t bring her cellphone with her she feels helpless and naked.
