Christoffer Columbus was borne in Italy for about 550 years ago. It was in the year 1451. His dad was a weaver and weaved the finest clothes from the animals wool. Christoffer and his brothers helped there father with selling the clothes and sometimes they also weaved some clothes. Columbus came out and sailed for his first time, when he was 14 years old. He had to sail to strange countries and cities and sell the clothes. Christoffer didn’t like to sell thinks, but what liked, was to sail around. Before he was 25 years he got his first big idea, he wanted to find the seaway to India, China and Japan.
The big day
For more than 500 years ago, the 3 August 1492 in Palos in Spain, were three ships in the harbor. They were all full of provisions and necessary thinks, so the crew could survive on the sea. They brought bought dead and chickens there were alive. It was 90 Spanish seamen, as wanted to do something, nobody ever have done before. They wanted to find India, China or Japan by sailing a crocs the Atlantic ocean. As you know it was Columbus how was there leader and have planed the big trip. Columbus should be captain on the biggest ship, Santa Maria. The two other ships was called Pinta and Niña.
