Christoffer Columbus (1451-1506) Who was Columbus? Christoffer Columbus was borne in Italy for about 550 years ago. It was in the year 1451. His dad was a weaver and weaved the finest clothes from the animals wool. Christoffer and his brothers helped there father with selling the clothes and sometimes they also weaved some clothes. Columbus came out and sailed for his first time, when he was 14 years old. He had to sail to strange countries and cities and sell the clothes.
