It all started the year 1492 when Christopher Columbus tried to find a seaway to India, but he ended up in America. And discovered the people he named The Indians. When he came back he told everybody about his found and showed everybody all the good stuff he had got. After that everybody wanted to get over there, so people from Spain sailed to America and began to explore south and Central America. They found cities which already was inhabited, then the Spanish people wanted to have a part of it, but they thought that the people wasn’t civilized and they were barbaric. So they murdered many many people. Over 150 years the number of people got reduced from 80 million to about 3.5 million people. People thought that indigenous wasn’t worth anything so they told them that could die or be a slave. So the Americans started farms and mine and used the indigenous to slaves. In Europe they did they same thing. They imported black people from Africa and used them to slaves, to be a slave was really hard. They worked day in and day out. They didn’t get money for it, only some cheap clothes they could work in rest of their days and some food that the white people wouldn’t eat.
