Martin Luther King Jr.: Barndom, familie og uddannelse

Martin Luther King Junior was born January 15, 1929 at the family home in the city

Atlanta in the Southern state Georgia. Martin Luther King Junior was the first son

and second child born to the Reverend Martin Luther King Senior, who was called

Daddy King or Pastor King, and Alberta Christina Williams King, who was called

Mama King. Martin Luther King Jr. had one big sister named Christina King Farris

and a little brother named Alfred Daniel Williams King. Martin Luther King's

maternal grandparents were the Reverend Adam Daniel Williams, second pastor of

Ebenezer Baptist church, and Jenny Parks Williams. His paternal grandparents,

James Albert and Delia King, were sharecroppers on a farm in Stockbridge, Georgia.

Martin’s childhood environment was not near poverty and degradation as most of the

black children because he was pastor King’s son. Pastor King was one of the most

important black people in the city. Martin admired his father and looked up to him

because his father did not believe that he was less important just because he had
