In august this year a bus with 22 tourists from Hong Kong were taken as hostages in a hijack bus in Manila for 10 hours. The hijacker was a former policeman he was 55 years old. He had worked almost three decade in the Manila police before he got sacked. He demanded his job back to release the hostages.
This hijacking ended in tragedy:
He shot 8 of the tourist from Hong Kong before he got shot by the Manila police.
Why did this hijacking ended in tragedy?
I think they should negotiate with the hijackers until he or she get tired. If you put too much pressure on a hijacker they may become desperate and the start killing their hostages. But how ever I think it is okay to shot a hijacker because then everybody knows they may probably die if they hijack.
Some religious extremists do not care if they die, so we can unfortunately not protect us against hijacking.
