At first I will tell about the background of the American Dream.
Europeans came to the new world in search af a place af liberty and a place where they would not be persecuted. They started to found villages, villages became towns which became cities. The immigrants soon discovered that they were not alone in their “new world”. They discovered the native people af America, the Indians. At first the newcomers and the natives were friends, but the urge to expand became too tempting for the newcomers and therefore they started a war against the Indians. There were bloody fights all over America just to exterminate the Indians, after a war that was, for the Indians doomed from the beginning, the immigrants started to move west to colonize. Now the immigrants had a country that could develop fast. And they made that to a succes.
The American Dream is all about something really big and then to follow that dream. Many children say that they want to be superstars, but for how many does that dream come true? Not many and as we might know there are plenty of people who haven’t got that dream job they always wanted. That is another side to the American Dream.
