The film is about a family who lives in London. It’s an Indian family, that are very religious. The daughter Jess is very good at soccer, and dreams of being a professional soccer player like David Beckham. There is just one big problem, and that is her family. Especially her mom is against her dream to be a soccer player. Girls or women must be at home and make food and take care of the family, like any other Indian families.
A day when she is playing in the park with her friends a girl named Jules watches her play. She plays soccer on a women team and want Jess to join. Jess starts playing on the team, without her parents knowing, but suddenly they found out that she is playing soccer again.
The coach Joe tries to make Jess’ parent accept, that she plays soccer, because she is so good at it. Joe is later on in the movie, splitting Jess’ and Jules’ friendship, because they both are in love with him.
The team wins a lot of matches and the next match they shall play is the big final, but Jess is not allowed to go, because she have to help at her sisters wedding.
