The Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is a 381 meters high skyscraper in New York. There are 102 floors. The construction of the building was finished in 1931. The next 23 years it was the highest building in the world, which people have ever made. The Empire State Building had a title as the tallest building in New York in 41 years period (1931-1972) until the World Trade Center was built. After the terrorist attacks at 11 September 2001, the building became the city's tallest skyscraper again.

The building is located in Manhattan, at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street.

The name of the building came from the nickname for the state of New York, The Empire State.

The Empire State Building was named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

It became a National Historic Landmark in 1986. In 2007, the Empire State Building became a number one of the List of America's Favorite Architecture.

The building is owned and managed by W&H Properties.

Now the Empire State Building is the third tallest skyscraper in the Americas, and the 15th tallest in the whole world.

One of the most famous “presentations” of the Empire State building was the movie, named “King Kong”. :)
