Lord of the rings.

- By Celil Cingitas The Lord of the Rings is a trilogy written by Tolkien. It consists of the three books: "The Fellowship of the Ring", "The two Towers" and "The King returns". Before Tolkien wrote the three novels, he wrote "The Hobbit", which explains how Gollum got the ring. The trilogy was made in to a film in 2001, instructed by Peter Jackson. It's impossible to talk about The Lord of the Rings without mentioning the Hobbits, or even The hobbit, Frodo. If you look up the word "hobbit" in an English dictionary it tells you that a hobbit is "An imaginary being similar to a person but smaller and with hairy feet, invented by J. R. R. Tolkien". I guess that's the picture most people think of when they hear the word "Hobbit". Frodo Baggins is the most famous hobbit. It appears that Frodo is curious and loyal, when he determinately takes on the burden to carry the ring, all the way to Mount Doom to destroy it. Hobbits are known as creatures who don't poke their noses into other peoples' business. The Baggins are especially known to be quiet hobbits, who don't do anything dramatic. Frodo and all the other hobbits live in the shire. The shire is a region in the middle earth. The story of the ring begins when Frodo inherits the ring after his uncle Bilbo Baggins at Bilbo's 111th birthday. Bilbo chooses to give the ring to Frodo according to Gandalf's advice. Frodo leaves the shire, to embark on his quest. His two friends, Merry and Pippin accidentally run in to Frodo, and these two new hobbits join him. Frodo and his two mates meet Aragorn at a pub, where Frodo looses the ring, which Aragorn discovers. They travel to Rivendell where the Fellowship has to decide what they want to do with the ring. The fellowship consist of Gimli, Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, Merry, Pippin and Legolas. Merry and Pippin are not invited to the meeting but they show up when Frodo says that he has decided to make the journey. The Lord of the Rings is a great example of the everlasting novel theme; the good against the evil. In the end the good wins the fight between Sauron, the evil himself, and
