'A Gap of the sky' af Anna Hope, novelleanalyse

It is about a 19year old girl struggling with life, temptations and everything else which is a part of our life. The 19year old Ellie is the main character. Ellie is in London to study but it seems to us that she doesn’t really care that much about school. She drinks a lot, and does a lot of drugs. Coke is the drug, mentioned several times, and it is also something she needs in the morning to get up and hand in her paper. The fact that she still cares so much about handing in her paper, and that she has to find ink, because she is out of it, shows us that Ellie has two sides; One which wants to stay in school, and one which wants to escape from everuthing, and as a young girl trying to find herself she is struggling with which one, she should be. Inside of her there is a girl who is afraid of losing her place, after the letter she received, and knows that she has to do her best to earn her place on the course “She’s going to have to work through the night, but its fine..” She will put the effect in handing in her paper on time. She already got a dispensation, so she knows she really has to work hard now.
