it all startet in the morning Sunday the 7 th. December 1941 when the Japanese attacks the pacific fleet at pearl harbor. The Americans were unprepared. The planes weren't ready to take off, the Anti-aircraft batteries were unmanned, the ammunition was locked up and the torpedo nets wasn’t layed out in the harbor.
Several of the most important aircraft carriers was on patrol in the pacific ocean and they therefore avoided to be destroyed.
the first attack wave went after the airport and battleships. The next wave went after the other warships and the shipyard. At 09.45 the attack was over. Eight battleships was hardly damaged and six was sunk. Furthermore, the Americans had lost three light cruisers, three destroyers, three smaller vessels and 188 aircraft’s.
Two-thousand-threehundred-and-thirtyfive soldiers and sixty-eight civilian were killed. Usa's navy in the pacific ocean had so far been sidelined. But the Japanese made a serious mistake when they cancelled the last attack wave. That was supposed to destroy the Americans fuel tanks.
This was going to save the Americans from teleporting an enormous amount of fuel to Hawaii.
