Filmanalyse af 'Pearl Harbor'

The film begins by looking at the protagonists Rafe McCawley and Danny Walker as children. They play in a little airplane and they have even made guns out of wood. They play that they are pilots fighting agents the Germans. At a military airfield on Long Island in January 1941, we are meeting Rafe and Danny again, but this time as adults, around 25 years of age. They get an offer to come to England and fight against the Germans, and they accepted the offer.

In February 1941, Rafe is crashing down because there is a leak in a hose. It is his best friend Danny who tells Rafes girlfriend the bad news. Evelyn gets very upset when she hears about his death. And so Danny and Evelyn becomes a couple. In December Rafe pops up again. He was picked up by a French fishing boat. He has not been able to get in touch with Danny and Evelyn because of the war. When he meets Evelyn again she says that she and Danny are together. When Rafe hears this he runs away.

December 1941, Pearl Harbor is attacked by Japanese warplanes, and they are shooting at civilians. After the attack, the president declares war against Japan. Rafe and Danny are both praised for their efforts against the Japanese by an officer. Then he tells them that he has been told to set up a top secret mission against the Japanese, and he offers Rafe and Danny to participate in the mission and they say yes.
