When i first heard we were going to Africa I was so excited that I began to pack 5min. after I was told. A month later we were sitting in the airplane on the way to Africa. We were so excited that we couldn’t sit still on our seats. It was a very long flight but we all got some good food and we had a really great time. I fell asleep but my mom woke me up when we finally were over Africa. From the airplane we could see the desert under us, it was so beautiful. When we landed we were taken to a car who would take us to the jungle.

We drove for hours and then we finally arrived, the big and exciting jungle were right in front of us. We were staying at the nomads houses. They had built them high above the ground so the animals from the jungle couldn’t get in the houses. We stayed at the Ziniki family as we called them. They didn’t speak that much English so we communicated by weird signs and things like that.

But one night we heard a sound form the jungle and after that another sound came. The Ziniki family came into our room ad told us to come out and see. And there right in the middle of the village there stood a huge elephant. One from the Ziniki family went down to the elephant and the elephant just stood there and looked at Halula the mother of the Ziniki family. The elephant lay his trunk over Halulas stomach and lifted her and put her carefully back on the ground. Afterword’s Halula told us that the elephant were their protector of the tribe and that he always was near them. She told us that his name was Spirit and that she had had him since he was little. We had a great time with the trip in the jungle and we learned a lot about the nature and the circle of life. After a few days we went home to Denmark.
