Welcome to the audience and thank you for inviting me to the Huston medical conference. My name is Lorenzo von Matterhorn, and I am honored to be here tonight.

I was invited here tonight to tell about plastic surgery on adolescents. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates, that more than 330.000 adolescents were having plastic surgery done last year , mostly nose and boobs jobs but also fat suctions, and it’s becoming mainstream among teenagers, in fact the numbers have tripled in the last 10 years, which many doctors concern as a big problem.

The human body is not fully developed before the age of 25, as you grow older, you accept your body, and since it is still chancing, you will not know the result of the development yet, why reject it?

Many surgeons justify their plastic surgery by claiming that the main reason, they operate is helping teenagers to improve their self-esteem and not just their looks. Daily teenagers are constantly showed the ideal woman or man, and they compare themselves to an image, which is highly unrealistic. We are all born with different genes, which make us unique. “It is clear there is an epidemic of low self-esteem among girls”, they all want to be perfect, but they do not realize that nobody are, we all have our little flaws.
