One step, two steps, three steps on the same old way of life. My life with happy teachers, laughing students and weird looking smiles. But the smiles stopped smiling when the blood covered my hands and when the police came to arrest me they told me that I was a monster.
It started as a normal school day at the Franklin High school for gifted children. We worked in pairs in the first couple of hours, because we had to make a report about the moneys in Africa. A white boy called Collin tolled a joke about me being black: “Why aren’t we writing a report about José? He’s a monkey anyway!” Everybody laughed and gave him a pat on the shoulder. He was the leader of the class – the king. Hiss queen was Cassie, a mean bitchy girl with bleached hair and tanned orange-like skin. They were ruling the class and bulling nerds and outsides like me. I was an outsider because of my skin color and my accent. I’m adopted and my biologic parents are living in Africa, so I’m black.
I don’t know exactly what people like Collin and Cassie are doing at a school for special gifted children, but I guess that their parents are in the school committee, but they aren’t really intelligent at all, they are just ruining the class. After the insulting movement with the joke, were we having our lunchbreak. I felt the hate burn inside my heart as Collin walked past me and took my place in the foodline. My hands were shaking, but I knew that his blood would be on my hands later. Nobody could see it, but I had a secret - a big one. Inside my gigantic sportsbag were several handheld guns and some homemade bombs. I admired the guys at the Columbine High School for doing the right thing to their classmates and teachers. They gave them what they deserved, so I was going to do the exact same thing, but not until it was the right time.
