Ensom i mængden

I was only 6 years back then. The world did not look so dark and scary, as it does now. The school had just started, and I was both excited and scared. Scared because of the fact that this was a new place with new people I did not know. Excited because it was a whole new chapter in my life that begun. In the next 10 year of my life, much of my time would be spent there...at least that was what I thought. The school actually started very well. I got many new friends, I could play with. But then the it all started to turn. 1 day after school, my parents did not came to pick me up. First I though it was pretty strange, but I did not think that much about it. Instead one of my friends parents drove me home. I decided to surprise them, so I sneaked in, took my boots of and opened the door to the living room very slowly, and not more than I was only able to see in with one eye. My dad yelled at my mother, and she yelled back. My dad started to walk towards my mother. He went very close and then he punched her in the face. Immediately my mother fall down on the floor. My dad punched her again and again. My mother was screaming, but after about 10 hits she stopped. My dad did punch her a couple of more times, but then he stopped too. I slowly closed the door again. I sneaked up to my room, and stayed there. After half an hour I walked down to my mother, who sat on the couch. She was bleeding from her lip and the left eyebrow. She hold me while very tight, and we both started crying. She told that it would all be all right. While we sat there, we could here my dad starting the car. We never found out where he drove that night, but the next day he had not came back. My mother told me that my dad was in jail, and that he and my mother had got a divorce. After that day, I would not talk to anyone. My friends slowly started to disappear, even my best friend left me after a couple of months. I heard people talk about me behind my back. “The weird girl” and “The girl with no friends”. That was what they called me. One day a boy from my class stole my bag, the rest of the class laughed. He refused to give it back to me. Later that day I found it dropped in a puddle. All my books was destroyed.
