“American opinion is divided between those who insist on the universal right to bear arms and those who advocate stricter controls”. Through this quote we get a clear vision of how life is in the States in terms of weapons.
The United States of America have the largest number of guns in any country in the world with 60 million people owning a combined arsenal of over 200 millions firearms. Their former president George Bush who is a big fan of NRA (National Rifle Association) signed a law while he was governor in Texas that gave the citizens right to carry a weapon and he also made it difficult for them to sue the gun manufacturers. Even though guns are permitted anywhere, there are different laws from stat to stat.
There have also been many arguments about the US constitution, which was written in 1787. The second amendment goes like: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. That has given people chance to say “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, but they forget that the sentence is taken out of a context and omits the important part of a well regulated militia. The second amendment indicates that it is right for a militia to bear arms not everybody.
