Blue Mountains: The Blue Mountains is listed because of the famous eucalypt vegetation. It covers more than 10.000 square kilo meters, and stretches for 220 kilo meters from North to South. Includes the largest wilderness (Wollemi Wilderness), in the eastern Australia between Cape York Peninsula and the island Tasmania. It lies in the state New South Wales and only 60 kilo meters from the centre in Sydney.
Blue Mountains has been inhabited by Aboriginal people for at least 12.000 years.
The mountains consists plateau, two rivers and very deep gorges. Some of the gorges are 750 meters deep. In the year 2000 area became a World heritage site, by Unesco.
The biggest city in the Blue Mountains is Katoomba. It is lying on a cliff edge with a imposing view to the mountains. Not very long from Katoomba stand three big columns off shore the cliff edge. they are called “three sisters” and it is impossible via a little bridge to get out to the first column. From here you can go by nature steps the long way to bottom of the valley.
Opera House: the Sydney Opera House is placed in Sydney, and it is the world´s most distinct buildings in the 20th century. It is also considered one of the most famous performing art in the world.
