I chose the topic Aarhus Business College because I have to start studying there after the summer, and I think it will be really exciting.
Founded in 1865, Aarhus Business College is the oldest business college in Denmark, but also one of the largest. With 300 full-time staff members, the college receives ca.10,000 students and course participants every year.??The College offers full and part-time study programmes and courses within the following areas:
General Business Services
International Marketing and Export
Banking and Finance
Public Administration
Management Studies & Management Training
Information Technology
Multimedia & Distance Learning
Computer Science
Modern Languages
The target group is primary school leavers and adults who receive training from basic to advanced levels. In addition to the individual students, the target group also include private and public sector enterprises and organisations that wish to develop their employees’ competencies.
The main activity of Aarhus Business College is to offer national vocational and business education, and training programmes in Denmark. These programmes are regulated and supported by the Danish Ministry of Education and by a large number of advisory bodies including representatives from various labour market organisations.
It is important for Aarhus Business College to be known as a development-oriented centre for education and counselling. In their efforts to create modern learning environments, the college actively supports the current development of applied methodology, involving interdisciplinary learning, integration of theory and practice as well as distance learning.
