Summary:
Is mandarin going to be the preferred business language? Not anytime soon, in about 2020 more than two billion people will be studying English, and that is like a good part of the world population. Only ten percent of the native-born Americans speak a second language, where fifty-six percent of EU inhabitants speak more than one language, so there is a little difference. To become a global leader, you have to be able to speak a second or third language, so that job doesn’t come so easily, because it takes many years of inspiration and knowledge to achieve the ability to speak another language. International sectors are using English as their main language because they must work together with people from all around the world and make it easier for both parts to communicate and cooperate. A big number of Europeans are more developed in English than many other countries outside of Europe. That may be because they have English as their second language in the majority of Europe and because they have learned it from when they were kids. Some Asians can be good at English, but a lot of them do not understand a thing that English talking people are saying when we are speaking English to them, and we also do not understand them anyway. English is the key language for success, if we look in the business world, and it has been that in many years. Females are often better at speaking English than men are, and they are finding themselves well positioned to succeed in the business world.
