A typical day starts out with getting ready for school. After getting ready for school I usually follow with my friends to school, we take the bus together. The bus arrives at school at 7:50 am, where we then go to our lockers to put all our stuff. After putting our things in our lockers my friends and I, we normally meet up in the hallway, cafeteria, or outside. Where we hang out until we have to go to class. At 8:20 am we go to our lockers to get the things that we need for our first class. Which in my case today is math. In math this week we have been working on Algebra. Our math class almost always starts with a quiz. The quiz is normally for half a page to a page long, it is about the things we learnt about in the previous class. The rest of the class is spent solving math problems in out math books or doing math problems on the chalkboards, where our teacher Mr. Downs goes around and checks our work. After our first period we have a 30 min break which my friends and I use to get a snack in the cafeteria and hang out before getting ready for the next class. I have science next class, so there are a lot of books that I have to bring to class. We are about half way in the school year and we are in the middle of this huge individual project with counts for half of our grade, out of everything we do in science the whole year. I’m doing my project of sound waves and so far I have completed the experiment and I’m now working on getting my lab done and the rest of the things for my presentation which is coming op in 3 weeks. And like every other class science is only 1 hour long, so we have really short time to do very much work. My teacher in science is Mr. Warnecke. After the second period to day I have free period, which I spend in study hall. Study hall is a class where you can sit in quiet and do your homework. In study hall there are usually one or two teachers, which don’t have classes at the moment, there to help if it is needed. After the third period is lunch. And today they are serving pizza, pasta, and some vegetarian meal, although there is also home made sandwiches and a salad bar. Like always the cafeteria line is very long so my friends and I are waiting in line until it is our turn. After getting our food we go to pay with our lunch cards at the counter. Our lunch break is 50 minutes long; we normally sit in the cafeteria and eat for most of the time before we go out in to the courtyard or in to the hallway to hang out before classes start again. Classes start again 10 to one. After lunch I have LA/SS, which I short for language arts and social studies. In LA/SS we are working in groups to research the different revolutions. My group, we are searching about the Haitian Revolution. The Haitian Revolution is in my eyes very interesting, cause you really get a felling of how the colored people had it at the time. Although before we start every class we start we start with a grammar assignment, which is placed on the whiteboard. My LA/SS teacher is Ms. Barrett, and she is also what you would call my homeroom teacher. Before the last period we have a 10 min break which for us to get our things and get ready for our next class. My last period today is Art and in art class I have Mr. D, in art the trimester I’m working on a picture of a part of the Czech Republic. I’m using crayons to make the picture, because I love how you really can get small details and different structures by using them. The bell rings, to tell us that it is 3 pm and that school is over. But it actually isn’t, well not for me anyway, at 3:30 pm I have swimming for 2 hours before I get to go home. I have been doing swimming for the whole year as well as in school I also swim in my free time. At the end of it we are going to another state to compete against other schools. After swimming I take the bus to work where I am from 6 pm to 8 pm. I work at a smoothie store almost everyday after school. And after work I go home. And then I eat dinner, followed by doing homework before I go to sleep.
