Amish people Today we live in a democratic country. We are not communist or Nazis so we can live our lives however we want to, if it is in a legal way. There is no law that says that living like they did in the year 1800 is forbidden, if you just do not disturb other people around you. The Amish people live with no electricity or modern inventions, in accordance with god and the nature. They do not try to talk you into their society and try to be self-supporting.
