The song Imagine is written and performed by the artist John Lennon. The song is build up very simply and consists of a short intro on piano followed by the first two verses, a chorus, the third verse, and then the chorus is repeated one more time. Each verse has six lines in it, and the chorus has four.

My interpretation of the song:

What John Lennon is trying to get us to do with his song is, to imagine a world without religions, possessions and other things, that divides people, and causes hate and war. He thought that would be a better world.

In the first verse he says to imagine, that there is no heaven. A world where all the people are 'living for today' without always thinking about, what happens after they die. He tells us, that this is an easy thing to imagine, if you have an open mind, and it is actually.

In the second verse John tells us to imagine the world with no countries and no religions. If there were no countries and religions, there wouldn’t be much left for people to fight over, and therefore no wars. A world where all the people are 'living life in peace'. In this verse he says that it isn't so hard to imagine it, but harder than the first verse though.
