Europeans came to America in search and hope for a place of liberty. Simply to get a fresh start – a second chance. They began to find villages. Villages became towns, which became cities. The immigrants soon noticed that they were not alone in their “new world”. They discovered the inborn people of America, the Indians. In the beginning the newcomers and the inborn were friends, but the craving to expand became too tempting for the newcomers and that’s why they started a war against the Indians. There were bloody fights all over America just to exterminate the Indians, after a war that was, for the Indians doomed from the beginning, the immigrants started to move west to colonize. Now the immigrants had a country that could develop fast. And they made that to a success. America – the land of opportunity.
The American Dream can be a lot of things. The American Dream is all about wanting something really big and then to chase that dream. Most people have that kind of dream, often as a kid. As kid you had this big dream about being a famous superstar, actor, football player, etc.
But for how many does that dream come true? Not many. As we might know, there are plenty of people who haven’t got that dream job they always wanted. But for those few who turned that dream into a reality, those are the ones we really are amazed by. The ones like, Walt Disney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eminem, Ole Henriksen etc. who achieved and completed their dream. They started from the bottom and now they are on the top.
