The infamous American dream is the belief that no madder your social class, you can through hard work and willpower, improve your life and eventually get rich and happy. The American Dream has changed a bit Through time. Nowadays it depends more on the individual person, some people want a big house and an expensive car, other people mean it is that you can chose your own education. The Idea about The American Dream, spring from the declaration of independence which says that “all men are created equal”. The American us declaration of independence, actually contains some of the same ethics as the American Dream.
This is in general a good concept, but you can always argue if all man really is equal, and if everybody really can become rich, and happy no matter the social class. There will always be some people who will be poor, and you can argue if they all have a chance to become rich. They say that all it takes to get out of poverty in the USA is private enterprise and entrepreneurship, but If we e.g. take social heritage. You have parents who don’t have a lot of money, and they just sit around, and get money from the system, and don’t even want to try and get a job, if you grow up with such parents, then when you grow older, you are likely to become exactly like them. The people who grow op this way may not have the chance to become rich and live out the American dream, because they have never known what money is, and how to get it.
